L3T1 Introduction

Explore your reason for journaling

Ask yourself why you want to journal.

Do you want your journal to document meaningful experiences and activities? A place to store memories and keepsakes such as ticket stubs, photographs, and your thoughts about these experiences

Do you want to journal your emotions and feelings? A way to externalise your inner emotional journey, your fears, loves, joys, and griefs.

Do you want to document your day? A place to record your day to day experiences.

Do you want to focus on particular topics or themes in your life? Using your journal as a therapeutic tool to explore deeply into critical issues. •

You may wish to journal for just one or a number of the reasons above.

The main thing is to be clear about why you want to journal and what you want out of it; this will inform your expectations about how to move forward.
